WINEMAKING NOTESThe Zinfandel and Petite Sirah fruit was harvested in mid-Septemberthrough late-October, with a portion picked by hand, then destemmedand crushed before a warm fermentation in stainless steel tanks.Varieties and vineyard lots were fermented separately to allow theirsignature characteristics to emerge before blending. The wineunderwent malolactic fermentation to soften the mouthfeel and wasaged for 12 months in 25% new French oak with medium tomedium-plus toast levels.TASTING NOTESBlending Petite Sirah into this Zinfandel gave it greater perfume, colorand complexity in the glass. A glint of purple against a deep red huehints at the luscious aromas of violets, raspberry and strawberry on thenose.
