Enchanted by this city of contrasts, he natured Glenmorangie in casks made from Japan’s sought-after mizunara oak, for a whisky as full of contradictions as Tokyo itself. Aromas of incense curl round sweet toffee. Bursts of pepper counter bright, bitter cherries. Then fresh orange zest fades into almond flakes and sweet, deep-grained oak.
