Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Bottled in Bond Bourbon Whiskey, 2025 marks a historic moment for the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection: the first new member added to the lineup in nearly two decades, and the sixth bottle in the series. Released for the collection's 25th anniversary, it honors Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr., who championed the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Built on Buffalo Trace's Mash Bill No. 1, it's aged 15 years and 4 months and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in strict accordance with the Act he helped create.

Honoring the Father of Modern Bourbon

Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. (1830 to 1923) is widely known as the "Father of the Modern Bourbon Industry." In 1870, he purchased a distillery on the Kentucky River and christened it O.F.C., "Old Fashioned Copper," the site that would become Buffalo Trace Distillery. Taylor believed the finest whiskey could only be crafted in wood-fired copper stills, and he became a driving force behind the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which cemented bourbon's integrity and set quality standards that still guide bourbon makers today.

A Landmark Addition to BTAC

Distilled in a single season, aged in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof, this release adheres strictly to the Bottled-in-Bond regulations Taylor himself helped write. Its 15-year, 4-month age statement makes it one of the longest-aged entries in the entire Antique Collection lineup.
