Norwegian herbs, potatoes, and berries fight an intense, slow, and never-ending battle in extreme environments, and only the strongest and most stubborn survive. Bareksten set out to capture that wild, untamed character in a single bottle, foraging local botanicals and trialing distillations for four years before landing on the final recipe. The result is a gin with a clear Norwegian identity: dark, wild, and dramatic.

26 Botanicals, Carefully Distilled

Alongside classic gin botanicals like juniper and coriander, Bareksten includes wild blueberries, lingonberries, elderberries, elderflower, rhubarb, mint, chamomile, and angelica, among others. The more delicate botanicals, including flowers, citrus, and rhubarb, are suspended in a basket inside the still, while the rest macerate in the spirit for a full 24 hours before distillation.
