Gyr î pronounced as JEER as in Gyrfalcon î is the largest true falcon found in the Arctic and the far northern hemisphere. The white Gyrfalcon has been referred to as the royal falcon, Iceland’s national bird, as well as the official mascot of the US Airforce academy.
