Fernet Gancia is an Italian digestive that was first produced by the House of Gancia, a storied wine-making family in Italy, at the start of the 1900’s. Thought to have medicinal properties that can aid digestion, it was originally sold in pharamacies. Over the years, it has won numerous awards including 17 gold medals. Fernet Gancia is usually served after a meal at room temperature, but it can also be enjoyed cold, mixed with soda water, ginger ale, or cola. In winter months, is can be heated and flavored with an orange or lemon peel.
