Valmur has depth and aromatic generosity like its powerhouse counterpart to the east, Les Clos. For Chablis, it's a warm site, and tends to be more floral and fruity, compared with mineral, and is more ready-to-drink than Les Clos. All of Romain's Grand Cru wines are fermented and aged in used Burgundy barrels, transferred to stainless steel tanks for 2-3 months, then returned to barrel. Generous and mouth-filling ripe stone fruit with bright lemon minerality. Weight and balance on the palate integrate the density of fruit so well. Romain's Valmur could go on for years, but it tastes so good now.
