Señora Leona takes its name from Leona Vicario, a hero of Mexico's War of Independence known as "the Lioness" and revered as the "Mother of the Homeland." How It's Made
The agave is slow-cooked in autoclave ovens for 14 hours, crushed using a traditional tahona wheel, left to ferment naturally with wild yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. This traditional, hands-on process is what gives Señora Leona its fuller, more textured character compared to many mass-produced blancos.
