Bozal Mezcal Borrego Sacrificio 750ML

Part of our Sacrifico Tier, Borrego is produced in the pueblo of Ro de Ejutla by Mezcaleros Don Adrian & Lucio Bautista. Sacrificial mezcal is typically produced in small batches for personal consumption in Mexico and takes place and year-end.

A dry mineral base is offset nicely with scents of fruit, herbaceous notes and nuttiness. A viscous entry leads to a fruit frorward mid-palate with subtle sweetness, bright citrus and persmissions. Smooth finish with flavors of smoked lamb.

Spanish term, bozal, translates to "wild" or "untamed." We chose this name for our Mezcal in reference to the wild species of Mexican agave grown in hard-to-reach, uncultivated lands of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Durango. As well As for the untamed traditions used by our family-operated distilleries, or mezcaleros, to distill small batches in those same locations.

Bozal Mezcal was founded in 2016 and started with an intial release of 4 expressions. To date we have released upwards of 30 unique mezcal expressions. We currently source from three separate mezcal producing Mexican states including Oaxaca, Guerrero. We take pride in the fact that we work with small family owned palenques and chose to highlight the mezcalero on all expression tasting notes. NOM-0472X

Proof/ABV: 94
