Chateau Mont Redon Lirac Rouge 2021 750ML
Our red Lirac can be enjoyed young for their red and black fruits dominant note, their voluptuous, spicy and delicately toasted character. They reach their plenitude on the third year. Their aging potential is 3 to 7 years.
Henri Plantin (1890 - 1966) acted as a precursor. In 1923, well before the creation of the Appellation d'Origine Controlee Chateauneuf-du-Pape in 1936, he acquired this property isolated from the village and surrounded by woods. A visionary, he worked to group the plots around the estate and sensed the exceptional character of the terroir of the plateau which dominates Mont-Redon then covered with scrubland and groves. A pioneer, he decided to clear this unexploited land and plant vines in the rolled pebbles. The following generations helped, little by little, to expand the estate to 100 hectares of vines in one piece, earning it the pride of being the largest estate in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation. In 1980, the farm expanded with the acquisition of a 15-hectare vineyard in the Cotes-du-Rhone Appellation, then another of 35 hectares in the Lirac Appellation in 1997. Adjacent, they are both located on the commune of Roquemaure.
