It was 1843 a certain gentleman of formidable character and unwavering virtue, one Dr. Henry J Lindeman, found himself in a strange land, where rum was plenty and manners were few. It was here that Dr. Lindeman’s crusade to show the ruffians of the day a new way of life, the way of the gentleman, began. Henceforth, he began to create wines, destined to change the palate of the ruffian, encouraging them forthwith to abandon their uncouth ways.
Lindeman's global popularity has been driven by the positive philosophy of Dr Henry Lindeman, who established Lindeman's in the Hunter Valley in 1843.
