Oban Distillers Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky takes Oban's classic Highland malt through a second maturation in Montilla Fino cask wood, a Spanish sherry-style influence that nods to the importers and entrepreneurs behind the distillery's founding. Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle.

Double Matured in Montilla Fino Casks

Each Distillers Edition undergoes a second, or "double," maturation in casks that previously held a fortified wine. For Oban, that means Montilla Fino, a dry Spanish sherry style that adds a subtle salty tang and bolsters the dried fruit and nutty barley character already present in Oban's coastal Highland spirit.

A Coastal Highland Malt, Taken Further

Oban's standard style is already shaped by the maritime air of Scotland's west coast, where the Highlands meet the sea. The Distillers Edition builds on that foundation, layering in the richness of Montilla Fino cask finishing for a fuller, more complex expression than the core 14 Year.

Tasting Notes

• Nose and palate: soft malt with delicate yet rich fruit, alongside hints of sea salt and white pepper.
• Body: full and rich.
• Finish: sweetened Jamaican coffee and oak.

How to Enjoy It

Best served neat, or with a splash of cool spring water to open up the fruit and malt further. Its rich, rounded character pairs well with cheesecake or dark chocolate.
